ALBUM: CKay – Sad Romance lyrics
Sad Romance marks CKay’s debut album, following his February 2021 EP, Boyfriend. His first single was his July 2019 breakthrough song, “love Nwantiti,” which garnered him critical attention due to its catchy chorus, which trended on social media. He followed it up with his December 2021 single dedicated to his significant other, “emiliana.” He then released two more singles, “WATAWI” and “you” respectively.
CKay confirmed the album when he uploaded a teaser video on social media, disclosing the album’s tracklist and release date, as well as the additional features, who were, Ayra Starr, Davido, Focalistic, Abidoza, Mayra Andrade, and Ronisia.
Although little was known about the album’s existence, the artist did not want to divulge any details about the album, but he indicated that the songs on his album are inspired by real-life events:
